back in the '90s, 3D immersion was all the rage. games such as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and quake is everyone's favorite 3D fps (First person shooter). there's one problem though, although 3D fps are gaining popularity it's just that...... all of them look the same and play the same. it's just too generic. thankfully some talented guys from 3D realms (a company) made DukeNukem 3D.
DukeNukem 3D was a phenomenal game, released back in 1996 DukeNukem went on to become one of the best fps game of all time. not only the game itself boast a huge map but it also allows you to create your own custom set of levels, yup.
the level design of dukenukem is just astounding. so many huge maps all over the place. this is what i missed about fps. basically fps today have extremely huge maps, not only that but the places you are currently fighting are not a construction site or military combat but instead, you'll enter a place where it's very familiar to you. places such as shopping malls, theatres, cities, pools, etc. anyways back to the main topic, dukenukem is one of the successful fps that spawns multiple versions of itself.
