4chan as a forum based social media is now outdated. in fact the website’s UI was never updated. although the UI of the website will never receive an update, it is surprisingly mobile compatible. so why 4chan still exist? why this such an old forum website that was created in 2003 still stand to this very day? well the answer will surprise you because 4chan offers one thing that every other social media and forum site doesn’t offer and that is the complete anonymity. you see, people begin to worry more about their privacy because these days, every social media wants your identity. also it didn’t even help the fact that every social media doesn’t offer a free speech.
that’s what makes 4chan so appealing. the fact that you don’t have to register to make a post is just great. although 4chan is great for giving user a complete freedom on their privacy, there is some drawback. you can’t post unless you subscribe to 4chan’s yearly subscription that will cost you 20 dollars. thankfully, the site now accepts bitcoin (a digital currency).
make no mistake, 4chan is filled with something that is straight up illegal. there is a real life serial killer posting dead bodies of his/her victim to 4chan. if you want to start small, find a category that suits you. category is called board on 4chan. the board that i would not recommend (unless you have a strong mental) is the /b/ board and the /pol/ board. other than that, it is safe to view.
so in conclusion, is 4chan safe to visit? mostly yes.
